MANILA, Philippines - Team Ducati Philippines dominated the field, racking up 11 trophies from its Ducati-Bacchus, ATAT Racing and Ducati-Access Plus Racing squads in the fifth leg of the Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit recently.
Former Superbike champion Raniel Resuello of the Ducati-Bacchus Racing Team turned in the second fastest laptime of 1:38.278 in the Superbikes Open to lead the team’s charge in the annual series.
Aside from Resuello, Ducati-Bacchus Racing Team riders Toti Alberto, TJ Alberto, Jericho Arnaiz and John Defensor accounted for six trophies.
Alberto wound up fifth overall in the Superbikes Open and went on to kept the Superbikes Masters crown with Defensor taking the runner-up honors.
His 16-year-old son TJ Alberto also won two trophies, finishing second in the Superbikes Novice and later captured the Middle A plum in the Club R Superbikes Series where Arnaiz also grabbed the Middle A runner-up trophy.
ATAT Racing Team delivered three trophies courtesy of Jay Carrion, who placed third in the Superbikes Masters, and Lawrence Macalinao, who also ended up third in the Superbikes Novice and Heavy A division of the Club R Superbikes Series.
Jussi Hoikka copped the lone trophy for Ducati-Access Plus Racing Team with a third place finish in the Superbikes Intermediate class.
