MANILA, Philippines - Jay Bayron fired a two-under 69 and trailed Indian Anirban Lahiri by five at the start of the Selangor Masters at the Seri Selangor Golf Club in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia yesterday.
Bayron hit five birdies against three bogeys as he took the cudgels for the Filipino aces after Tony Lascuña and Mars Pucay carded identical 70s, Angelo Que matched par 71 and Cassius Casas and Miguel Tabuena, runner-up in last week’s, struggled with 73s.
Lahiri sizzled with 10 birdies to negate his three bogeys for a 64 and a two-shot lead over compatriot SSP Chowrasia and Taiwanese Chan Yih-shin, who both had 66s.
