Davao rules Batang Pinoy in Mindanao

PAGADIAN CITY, Philippines – Davao City and Gen. Santos City fought a close battle to finish first and second with 13 and 12 gold medals, respectively, in the 2014 Batang Pinoy Mindanao swimming competition here Friday.

Zoe Marie Hilario sparkled with five golds while Cedrich Joseph Fox and Sheannelle Fox snared three each and Eirron Seth Vibar chipped in one for the champion team.

Pagadian City Mayor Romeo Pulmones, Romeo Magat of the Philippine Olympic Committee and Batang Pinoy project director Maria Fe “Jay” Alano were on hand during the awarding ceremonies.

Davao del Norte placed third with six gold medals, followed by Zamboanga City (5), Iligan City (5), Koronadal City (4), Davao Oriental (4), and Panabo City (4).
