The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The scenic Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club in Morong, Bataan is treating triathletes and their families to another weekend of multi-sports challenges with the holding of the seventh Anvaya Cove Invitational Triathlon set Oct. 18-19.

The event, sponsored by ACBNC, Globe and Gatorade, fires off at 3 p.m. with the SuperTrikids competition composed of short distance triathlon for participants aged 9-10 and 11-12 as well as an aquathlon for those aged 8 and below.

Scheduled the next day starting at 6:30 a.m. are the mini-sprint (500M swim-9K bike-2.5K run), sprint (750m swim-20K bike-5K run) and standard distance (1.5K swim-40K bike-10K run).

The annual triathlon introduces a standard distance course around the resort featuring a steep road going to the club. A tough hilly bike ride over paved roads will change Sunday participants.

The top 3 category winners  (STK, age-groups, relay, family relay and 16-above) will receive medals while finishers will be entitled to event t-shirts and post-race brunch.

“We are proud to welcome triathletes and their families,” ACBBC general manager George Cadhit said

Registration fees at P3,000 (P3,500 starting Sept. 1) for sprint/mini-sprint, P6,500 (P8,000 starting Sept. 1) for sprint relay, P3,500 (P4,000 starting Sept.1) for standard distance and P1,000 for STK.
