MANILA, Philippines - Mimosa clinched at least a tie for the sixth and last playoffs berth after a 3-2 upset of Sta. Elena in an away match in the Men’s Federation Golf League matches recently.
The win was Mimosa’s third in seven games that ensured the Mimosa golfers’ hold of third place with nine points in Group 1 even if they dropped their final outing with Sta. Elena at home.
Wack Wack and defending champion Valley are already assured of the first two semifinals berths with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Sta. Elena finished second behind Valley with 16 points.
Forest Hills and Alabang have already clinched the two quarterfinals slots in Division 2 with 15 and 10 points, respectively, leaving Eastridge and Mimosa to dispute the sixth and last finals slot.
Eastridge needs to beat Valley in their final match this weekend to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. Mimosa will advance if Eastridge loses.
