MANILA, Philippines - As expected, the big names in Philippine bowling, led by former world champion Biboy Rivera and multi-titled Lara Posadas, advanced to the second level of 64 players in the ongoing Bowling World Cup national championships.
Rivera, shot two big games of 269 and 266 last Saturday at Coronado Lanes, and 33 other survivors of the prestigious individual kegfest roll another 12 games starting at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Paeng’s Midtown center, shooting for eight spots leading to the stepladder finals.
Rivera finished the first day of competition with 2615 pinfalls, followed by Jay-Ar Tan at 2564, Benshir Layoso (2510), Enzo Hernandez (2482) and Raoul Miranda (2466).
Posadas and the 33 other contending ladies play another 10 games on Wednesday also at Paeng’s Midtown battling for eight crucial spots.
