Yellow Cab joins Challenge Phl for CamSur tilt

Joey Villar - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After its successful staging in Subic Bay, Challenge Philippines triathlon has expanded its reach as it goes to CamSur on June 14 next year with Yellow Cab Pizza as the new title sponsor.

“We are honored to welcome Challenge CamSur as part of the Challenge Philippines’ family of races,” said David Voth, CEO of Leverage Sports Asia and chairman of Challenge Phl Races in yesterday’s press launch at the 55 Events Place in Quezon City.

Voth said the partnership with Yellow Cab will be for the next three years.

“The Challenge Phl brand and Yellow Cab share a certain status in the market. Only a few can be a triathlete, but a lot of people are aspiring to be one,” said Yellow Cab COO Roy Quejada.

“We could not ask for better partners. Yellow Cab is symbolic of quality, passion, and a positive lifestyle that makes it perfect fit for the Challenge brand,” said Voth.

The new host city has guaranteed another successful staging of the event which will also feature a slew of international campaigners.

“We in the province of CamSur are so proud to be part of the Challenge Family Global Series and we are looking forward to host the CamSur Challenge Triathlon next year as its banner event,” said CamSur Gov. Miguel Luis Villafuerte, who was accompanied by his father and former Gov. LRay.

“CamSur, for its part, has a rich tradition and legacy in the sport of Phl triathlons and with their passion and warmth, it’s just amazing to have them also,” he added.

As a treat, Voth said they will roll back their entrance fee to $190.

“In celebration of a new Challenge race in CamSur and a new title sponsorship with Yellow Cab plus the 30th anniversary of the birthplace of Challenge Family Triathlons in Roth, Germany, we will roll back our race entry prices so many more can join,” he said.

The Subic event last February drew over 729 athletes from 38 countries including royalties, two crown princes of Bahrain and current world champion Michael Murphy of Australia.

After registration, all athletes will get a chance to win a year-round season pass to select Challenge Family Races including a coveted race kit to Challenge Roth in 2015.

The promotion will run for a limited time only and they may register and join through http:/bit.ly/30YearsOfRoth.
