Trillo to Meralco as Black’s asst coach
MANILA, Philippines - Luigi Trillo, replaced by Alex Compton as Alaska head coach after two games in the last PBA conference, will be back on the bench in the coming PBA Season 40, working as one of the assistant coaches of Norman Black at Meralco.
“Officially joining the Meralco Bolts family. Excited to work with Coach Norman and the team,” said Trillo on his Facebook account.
Trillo, a one-time PBA champion coach, joins Ronnie Magsanoc, Patrick Fran, Xavy Nunag and Gene Afable as among Black’s deputies.
Paolo Trillo is another Trillo to sit on the Meralco bench as team manager. He was transplanted from Talk n Text to Meralco on the major shakeup effected in the MVP Group teams after their dismal showing last season.
After his exit from the Alaska team, Luigi sat on the PBA TV panel as a game analyst.
It didn’t take long for him to return to coaching, though.
