MANILA, Philippines - To give partner schools a chance to join, the 2014 Tempra Run Against Dengue has been reset from July 20 to Aug. 3 set at 4 a. m. at the Cultural Center of the Philippines grounds.
Classes have been suspended for four days in many Metro Manila schools in the wake of Typhoon Glenda, thus preventing partner schools such as Perpetual Help, Unibersidad de Manila and Pamantasan ng Pasay, among others, from listing up.
“We value the participation of our students in such an advocacy run of this magnitude, that is why we are giving them this chance,” said Matt Ardina, events director of the organizing Subterranean Ideas. “Besides, a rainy weekend looms as a result of a low pressure area developing. The safety of our participants is paramount to us.”
Part of net proceeds from the Tempra run, also backed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Sports Commission, Maynilad, Mortein Naturgard, Medicard, Business Mirror, Health and Fitness Magazine, Toby’s, Vitwater, Banana Boat and Guard Insect Repellent, will be used for the purchase of anti-dengue modalities, which will all be donated to selected barangays.
Regular registration continues at Toby’s Arena in Glorietta 2, Makati and Toby’s SM Manila.
