Fabian beats Inguito in thrilling finish

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Reigning Underbone champion Niño Fabian and Paul Mark Doblada took the spotlight as they dominated the second leg of the FDR Underbone King Championship Series and the FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series respectively at the Batangas Racing Circuit recently.

Fabian survived a thrilling photo-finish with John Emerson Inguito to capture the premiere 150cc Open crown of the Underbone series while Doblada humbled the fancied bets in the 180cc PSR division of the Scooter series which are both part of the 2014 Motorsports Championship Season presented by Petronas sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooters Racing Association (USRA).

Fabian bucked the pressure from Inguito who hounded the former throughout the nine-lap race to the delight of the big crowd. But Fabian nosed out Inguito by just 0.002 of a second.

Herbert Lopez and kickoff leg winner Johnlery Enriquez checked in 0.363 and 0.471 of a second behind for third and fourth places, respectively.

Doblada ended up fifth in the event supported by media partners Racing Beat @ Wave 89.1, Inside Motoring @ dzRJ810khz and Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ dzME 1530.
