Anton tandem wins M-Fest time attack

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The father-and-son duo of Castrol-Yokohama champion driver Carlos Anton and nine-year-old Inigo proved to be the team to beat during the recently concluded M-Fest time attack and Touge competitions at Clark Speedway.

Anton, using the Mark Young-Works Bell Honda EF set his third record this year in as many races by clocking 1 min 7.90 seconds around the Clark East track while son Inigo checked in third place in the Novice 2 liter and above category in both the Time Attack events and Touge Battle runs.

It was already the third podium finish for the younger Anton who has just started his budding but very promising career.

Alfie Concepcion of JSD Autosport, who took a year off racing due to injury, finished a strong second to Carlos Anton in the Race Car category in both events.

“It’s great to win alongside Inigo again.  He is really an amazing driver just at age 9.  Our car ran well all day and to get our third record in the three races we have joined is something special.  I hope our winning streak continues.” Anton said.

Gab Sohu, another young racer from Baguio, also won in his division, making the racers from the summer capital the marked men during national racing events.

Anton is backed by Yokohama, Castrol, Works Bell Brakes, Cars Unlimited, Autoshack, JSD Autosports, Special Stage, Hornitex,  View Park Hotel, Ethanworxs and Mohspeed.
