MANILA, Philippines - The FDG Cup Open and Invitational Badminton Championships will offer ranking points for members of the national pool seeking to improve their standings with the singles events added for the first time, making the 11th staging of the annual tournament truly national in scope.
Aside from cash prizes and trophies, the winners and the other top finishers in various categories will earn ranking points as the four-day event, set June 14-15 and June 20-21, serves as part of the Philippine National Ranking System (PNRS) of the Philippine Badminton Association in partnership with Smart Communications.
Through this joint venture, the FDG Cup Open division, including the women’s and men’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles, will also give players a shot to become members of the Smash Pilipinas badminton team.
