MANILA, Philippines - Chiang Kai Shek College and Xavier School arranged another title-showdown by downing their respective rivals in the 17th Chiang San Ching Memorial Alumni Invitational Basketball held last Wednesday at the SGS gym in Quezon City.

Banking on the hot-shooting trio of Karl Villaflor, Jlo Ngo and Nick Abanto, the CKSC Dragons outlasted St. Jude Catholic School, 64-56, while the Xavier Stallions were merciless in their 104-71 drubbing of St. Stephen’s High School.

The Stallions and the Dragons dispute the under-22 title today at 2:15 p.m. also at the SGS gym on Araneta Ave. in Quezon City with the former out to complete an eight-game sweep of the tournament.

The Stallions beat the Dragons in the opener and went on to sweep the elims of the seven-team tournament held in honor of Chian San Ching,  founder of the Philippine Kiao Ching Athletic Association.

Rusty Lopez and Supercharger by Big Chill are the chief sponsors of the tournament that helped polish the game of several Fil-Chinese players now playing in the PBA.

With Jet Manuel, Kyles Lao and Paulo Pe scoring almost at will, the Stallions got off to a hot start and virtually sealed the win after leading by 25 points late in the third quarter.

Kiao Ching Athletic Association is reputed as the oldest active Filipino-Chinese sports organization in the country.
