Habagat sweeps b’ball-softball tiff

MANILA, Philippines - Habagat swept the major boys and junior boys divisions in the Greenfield Baseball/Softball Invitational tournament at Greenfield City in Sta. Rosa, Laguna recently.

Habagat routed Entom, 8-1, in the major boys finals then routed SRLL, 12-2, to rule the junior boys side of the event sponsored by Greenfield City and backed by Solen Residences, Pramona Residential Park, Greenfield Auto Park and the Sta. Rosa Business Park.

In other results, the Dodgers edged the Dasmariñas side, 5-4, to clinch the minor boys’ crown while Tanauan topped the pitch division followed by Ateneo and Bayanan.

Makati beat Caloocan for the girls’ softball crown while De La Salle-Zobel took the senior girls’ division plum in the tournament organized by Pureplay Sports.

Dasmariñas thumped DLS-Z, 19-5, to place third in the major boys’ side while Entom and MJB finished joint third in the juniors boys category and Ateneo beat Entom, 6-3, to finish third in the minor boys’ division.
