Canlas firms up NCA top cocker bid

MANILA, Philippines - Efren Canlas and Jimafer firmed up their lead in the National Cockers Alliance Cocker of the Year derby as they pooled 60 1/2 points for five-point lead over Eric dela Rosa and Butchoy heading to the crucial phase of the derby circuit.

Patrick Antonio and Arman Santos tote 54 points each while Claude Bautista has 51 1/2 points.

Meanwhile, Santos’s AA Jade Resort scored eight points and emerged the solo champion in the NCA World Championship Derby. JT Emerald of Jun Topacio, CPB AAO of Bautista, Natividad of Caesar Dy and Zaido of Aldo Mayor Goto assembled six points apiece.

Hatchet Binangonan of Gov. Ito Ynares and June 13 of Antonio came away with 5.5 points each while BM Mabalasik of Ka Luding and Sundance Fire of RVP and Phil Sy scored five points apiece.

Action in the NCA derby circuit, meanwhile, resumed yesterday with a six-cocker at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig with Canlas and the other leading cockers-breeders also fielding in their respective top-notch entries.
