Austria, Saraza advance in Toby’s

MANILA, Philippines - Carlos Austria turned back Elijah Arevalo, 3-6, 7-5, 10-3, and Joseph Saraza downed King Golfo, 6-4, 6-2, to advance to the round-of-16 in the boys’ 16-under division of the 13th Toby’s Summer Tennis Festival at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center yesterday.

Also barging into the next round were Karl Baran, who waylaid Matcus Panahon, 6-2, 6-3; Manuel Balce, who walloped Joshua Austria, 6-1, 6-1; Vincent Alanis, a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Earl Sagada; Jeremiah Masias III, who slammed Frank Allan Perez, 6-3, 6-0; and Albather John Rosales, who pummeled Lorenzo Cruz, 6-0, 6-2.

In other results, Maraphael Teng rallied to beat Luis Angelo Peña, 4-6, 6-3, 10-4; Michael Francis Eala routed Nolan Gagalac, 6-1, 6-1; Justine Prulla blanked Darwin Libre, 6-0, 6-0; and  Tomas Puno overwhelmed Pete Coteron, 6-3, 6-0.
