Two-wheel racing back at BRC
MANILA, Philippines - Two-wheel racing hits the road anew Sunday as the 2014 Motorsports Championship Season stages the second legs of the 2014 Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series, 2014 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series and 2014 FDR Underbone King Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Defending champion Dashi Watanabe of Aprilia Grandstar guns for his second straight win following his awesome, near-flawless show that impressed the crowd and drew the first blood in the 2014 Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series sanctioned by the Superbikes Racing Association (SBRA) and sponsored by Petronas, and media partners Racing Beat @ Wave 89.1, Inside Motoring @ DZRJ810khz and Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530.
Also hoping to duplicate their first leg feats are Josh Reuben Tan in the 2014 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series and JVT Racing top gun Johnlery Enriquez in the 2014 FDR Underbone King Championship Series which are both sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooters Racing Association.
Making it a whole-day, non-stop racing treat for the spectators are the heart-stopping battles in the equally exciting fifth K58 Cup, Ducati Cup, Moto IR, Honda One Make Race and MTRT Club Race.
The kickoff leg only proved that the epic FIM Superbike World Championships rivalry between Aprilia and Ducati has opened its sub-chapter in local racing behind their franchise riders – Aprilia’s Watanabe and Ducati’s Rainiel Resuello – who are the main protagonists for the Superbikes plum.
Supporters of both teams overcrowded the venue as Resuello tries to bounce back and the Ducati camp providing all-out support in pursuit of glory.
