Raymundo, Paez tow tennis winners

MANILA, Philippines - Toni Rose Raymundo routed Cionna Frederique Villaflor, 6-0, 6-1, and Patricia Nicole Paez edged Fatima Ameena Lerios, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4, to cruise to the next round in the girls’ 18-under division of the 13th Toby’s Summer Tennis Festival at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center yesterday.

Shyryn Salazar overwhelmed Bea Patrice de Ocampo, 6-1, 6-1, and Marriane Ferry blanked Jemima Georgette Cruz, 6-0, 6-0, to match Raymundo and Paez’s romps.

Others who advanced were Micah Aubrey Rosales, who turned back Rica Mae Ombe, 4-6, 6-3, 10-4; Marriane Hipolito, a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Amor Decendario; Alex Eala, who dumped Kielz Kyle Diaz, 6-3, 6-3; and Keanna de Asis, who downed Patricia Corporal, 6-2, 7-5.

Cindy Nuguit and Christy Sanosa also advanced after walkover wins.

In the 10-under unisex section, Kay Ann Emana trounced Riley Matthieu Banaag, 5-3, 4-1; Shant Nuguit walloped Fern Alekzander Po, 4-1, 4-1; Kryshana Brazal smashed Brent So, 4-1, 4-1; Alyssa Mae Rosales outclassed Sean Andre Bernardo, 4-0, 4-0; Pete Andrei Rodriguez bested Angelo James Rosales, 4-2, 4-2; and Samuel Nuguit defeated Jimuel Galabay, 4-2, 4-1.

In the boys’ 14-under class, Marraphael Teng eliminated Jibryl Rose Perpetua, 6-1, 6-2, and Nolan Gagalac waylaid Raphael Halili, 6-3, 6-0, to reach the quarterfinals.

Tim Gumban made quick work of Rewel Justiniani, 6-0, 6-0; Nio Tria showed Zire Mina the door with a 6-4, 6-1 win; Pete Coteron outlasted Allan Jeric Ordinario, 6-3, 6-2; and Joseph Anida sent home Eldyzar Alvarico packing with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.
