Pascual, Candinato win Southwoods Invit’l golf
MANILA, Philippines - Theody Pascual and Ric Candinato pooled a 135 to capture the overall gross crown while Eng Galicia and Severino Oliva took the overall net title with a 164 to lead the winners in the Southwoods Invitational 2014 at Manila Southwoods’ Legends and Masters courses in Carmona, Cavite over the weekend.
Sil Eun Jang and partner Marilyn Reyes assembled a 154 under the aggregate Stableford scoring format to nip Ryan Abdon and Domingo de Leon by two and cop the Division I plum while Robert Banatin and John Elepano combined for a 160 to edge Tess Staub and Matet Salivio by one for the Division II diadem in the 36-hole, two-man team event backed by hole-in-one sponsors Mitsubishi Motors Phils. Corp./Diamond Motors Corp. and Royal Caribbean International/Baron Travel Corp.
Marcelino Uy and Cathy Neish shot a 164 to post a three-point romp over Arlette Dizon and Eden Hernandez in Division III while Arsenic Villanueva and Diosdado Bautista came through with a 152 to foil Hyun Jung Park and Ryung Hey Kim, who had a 151, for the Division IV crown in the event supported by Dynamic Sports Corp., Kart Plaza Corp., Emperador Distillers, Inc. and Mit Air, Inc.
Rene Unson and Andie Unson fired a 154 then nipped the Raymund Bunquiin-Bobby Chico pair in the countback to top the sponsors/guest division of the tournament backed by Wheath Inc. (Megafiber, Goutritis & Brainmaster) and Emperador Distillers, Inc. as gold sponsors and Agrexplore Corp., Regent Travel Corp./Mission Hills, Resorts World Manila, The Turf Company and Warbird Security and Investigation Agency, Inc. as silver sponsors.
