Southwoods Invit’l stakes car, cruise for aces

MANILA, Philippines - A brand-new Mitsubishi Mirage G4 GLS sedan and an eight-day, seven-night Caribbean cruise are but two of a slew of prizes staked for hole-in-one feats in the Southwoods Invitational which got underway over the weekend at Manila Southwoods Legends and Masters course in Carmona, Cavite.

Mitsubishi Motors Phils. Corp./Diamond Motors Corp. is putting up the car for ace while the cruise for two on board Oasis Class Ship is courtesy of the Royal Caribbean International/Baron Travel Corp., which includes two round-trip tickets from Manila to Fort Lauderdale.

Other hole-in-one and raffle prizes in the two-round, two-man team event under the aggregate Stableford format are one Mitsubishi inverter aircon, a golf holiday package for two at Mission Hills, Shenzhen, Dongguan and a brand-new Profile Wilson golf set.

Also up for grabs for aces are one golf iron set from Dynamic Sports Corp., a Yamaha golf cart from Kart Plaza Corp. and a nine-day Spanish tour for two courtesy of Emperador Distillers, Inc.

Titles being disputed in the event, backed by year-round sponsors Mitsubishi Motors Phils. Corp./Diamond Motors Corp., Royal Caribbean/Baron Travel and Mit Air, Inc., are in Division I (0-10 handicap), Division II (11-16), Division III (17-22), Division IV (23-27) and sponsors/guests.

Wheath Inc. (Megafiber, Goutritis & Brainmaster) and Emperador Distillers, Inc. are the event’s gold sponsors while Agrexplore Corp., Regent Travel Corp./Mission Hills, Resorts World Manila, The Turf Company and Warbird Security and Investigation Agency, Inc. make up the silver sponsors.
