Joey Villar - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Fil-Am Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton sent down Egyptian Aya Saeid Saber via TKO (strikes) to open her mixed martial arts campaign with a bang in ONE FC: Rise of Heroes at the MOA Arena in Pasay Friday night.

It was the 33-year-old Julaton’s first victory in the MMA cage after hanging up her boxing gloves following a sterling career in the sport where she collected 13 wins including two championship belts, lost four and drew once.

“It’s a dream come true for me and I dedicate this win to my country, the Philippines,” said Julaton.

It was one of the many victories by the Filipinos after Eduard Folayang, Rey Docyogen and Eugene Toquero all won their bouts.

Folayang bested former champion Japanese Kotetsu Boku. Docyogen won over Joshua Alvarez and Toquero over previously unbeaten Gianni Subba of Malaysia. All three won by  via unanimous decision.

Brazilian Bibiano Fernandes outpointed Masakatsu Ueda to seize the world bantamweight title in the main event of the evening.
