MANILA, Philippines -  Adamson and Far Eastern University trounced their respective rivals in contrasting fashions even as De La Salle-Zobel notched its second straight win to take the early lead in the PCABL (Philippine Chinese Amateur Basketball League) seventh Freego Cup at the Phil. Buddhacare Academy gym in Quezon City recently.

With Jimboy Pasturan leading the team’s attack, the Baby Falcons demolished the University of the Philippines Junior Maroons, 89-69, while the Baby Tamaraws drew big baskets from Brandrey Bienes and Marvin Lee to outlast the Letran side, 76-73.

The Junior Archers, who beat San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 82-49, in the opener two weeks ago, dominated the Junior Warriors to score a runaway 78-51 win in the event presented by Freego.

In the other game, reigning UAAP champion National U rebounded from a 69-55 loss to Letran by trouncing University of Santo Tomas, 85-56, in the tournament also sponsored by Smart Telecom, Fresh Gear (FG), Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, Colt Commercial, K Tech Sports, Insular Square of Cebu and Cebu Pioneer Auto Supply.
