MANILA, Philippines - National team standouts Princess Superal and Pauline del Rosario topped their respective divisions to book return trips to the Asia Grand Final of the Faldo Series Asia after the recent Philippine qualifier at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Trece Martirez, Cavite.
Superal, who posted lopsided victories in the Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open and the Royal Selangor Golf Club Amateur Open recently, cruised to victory in the girls Under 21 after rounds of 75, 70 and 73 for 218.
Del Rosario, on the other hand, rallied from six strokes down in the final round with a 74 to foil ICTSI teammate Sofia Chabon and capture the girls Under 16 of the 54-hole event that kicked off a series of qualifiers around Asia and the Pacific.
Del Rosario, who humbled Team ICTSI spearhead Superal in the recent Faldo Series Finals, pooled a 225 that included a 79 and a 72.
Del Rosario and Superal will thus lead this year’s batch of qualifiers in five age groups for boys and four for girls.
