Over 50 teams vie in Bomber caging

MANILA, Philippines - More than 50 teams from different barangays in Sampaloc, Manila will see action in the “Pahirap Basketbolan sa Tag-init” tournament starting at 2 p.m. today at the Bomber covered court.

Organized by Bomber Sports Promotion in cooperation with the Public Recreation Bureau under the office of the City of Manila mayor, the annual cagefest will be staged under the theme “Tuloy ang saya, tuloy ang ligaya.”

The teams, which are not being charged any registration fee by sports promoter Bomber Pamiloza, will compete in four divisions – juniors, midgets, kids and mosquitoes.

Pamiloza is also staging a volleyball tourney simultaneously with the basketball event. Participants will vie in mosquito 1 and 2, kids 1 and 2 mini divisions.

“Serbisyong walang katapusan,” said Pamiloza. “Cash and trophies will be at stake in these summer competitions.”
