MANILA, Philippines - Castrol-Yokohama-Works Bell driver Carlos Anton raised the bar anew as he pulled another triumph by smashing his old track record recently in Round Two of the Circuit Showdown Series at the Clark International Raceway.
The multi-titled racing champ was again at his top form as he reset the Clark Speedway track record to an almost unbelievable 2 min 3.229 seconds with the huge support of Cars Unlimited, Hornitex, Autoshack, Special Stage, Ethanworx and View Park Hotel.
“The Mark Young-Works Bell CRX ran almost perfect today and the conditions were just right but I am also in disbelief that we went almost 2 seconds faster than my last record at this track.†Anton said after his run using a 230 horsepower engine built by Mohspeed.
Anton then went on to win the Braket-A class using the Works Bell Porsche 991 setting the second fastest time of the day at 2 min 11.881 seconds beating out ForceSpeeds Eggy Ong who settled for third overall with a time of 2 min 13.000.
Ong went on to finish in second place during the Grid A race the following day.
Inigo Anton, the youngest race car driver in the series, finished fifth in Bracket F and beat 17 other racers during his run.
“Inigo has a great future ahead of him and improves his lap times with every race, I’m sure he will be beating me very soon,†Anton said of his son.
