Malayan Science, King’s Montessori prevail anew

MANILA, Philippines - Malayan School of Science and King’s Montessori School stormed to their second straight victories and a share of the lead in the 2014 Summer League Inter-Secondary basketball  tournament at the Dapitan Sports Complex in Manila.

Malayan massacred a hapless Ernesto Rondon High School squad, 137-40, behind the combined 32 points of Frank Yco and Neil Russell  while King’s Montessori  turned back St. Vincent school, 58-49.

Sherwin dela Cruz topscored with 13 points and Diego Arcega added nine for King’s Montessori, which trailed 20-30 at the half.

St. Vincent School, which was led by Jamee Mangio with 20 markers, took its second straight loss like Ernesto Rondon in the tournament organized by the Manila Inter-Commercial Athletic Association, presented by Fusion Marketing in partnership with the City of Manila and the Manila Sports Council (MASCO) and supported by AUB, PNB and Emperador.

In the only other game, University of Santo Tomas HS rebounded from its opening-day loss to Malayan with a 94-43 rout of EDSCI.
