Tanduay holds ‘Chairman Kap’

MANILA, Philippines - Tanduay Distillers, Inc. celebrates a new journey on its 160th year via the staging of the Tanduay Chairman Kap, an invitational golf tournament in honor of its chairman and chief executive officer,  Dr. Lucio Tan, tomorrow at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.

The firm’s partners, families and friends are expected in the whole day event spearheaded by TDI president Lucio “Bong” Tan Jr.

“It’s more than a golf event, even more than just a gathering of the Tanduay family.  This will be a day of expressing gratitude to all the important people of this company. This is for all of us.”

The big toast is reserved for “El Kapitan,” Dr. Tan’s monicker in the industry, whose passion for the sport bloomed only after he ably steered Tanduay forward during critical times of its history.

The day also serves as a double birthday celebration of Yan’s  wife Doña Carmen  Tan and Bong Tan’s sister Rowena Tan Chua.

The elder Tan will hit the ceremonial ball to kick off the event where 422 raffle prizes are at stake, including hole-in-one prizes Ford Mustang, Mitsubishi Pajero, Toyota Altis and Hyundai Accent on designated holes..

Tournament chairman Gerard Cantada set a 5 a.m. registration for the 6 a.m. morning shotgun followed by a noon shotgun.

Dinner and awarding ceremony start at 6 p.m.
