Hamilo Coast hosts Aboitiz triathlon April 5

MANILA, Philippines - The triathlon wave hits the scenic Hamilo Coast in Nasugbu, Batangas as it hosts the inaugural Aboitiz TRI2014 standard distance triathlon event on April 5, starting at 2 p.m.

A joint project of the Aboitiz Group and Bike King, headed by Raul Cuevas, the race will be composed of a 1.5km swim that will take place at the sea water near Pico de Loro followed by 40km cycling mainly along the Nasugbu-Ternate Road and Highway and 10km of running finishing at the Pico de Loro Beach Club. Two transition areas will be used.

Up for grabs in the event, sponsored by Aboitiz Equity Ventures, UnionBank, Aboitiz-Power and Weather-Philippines together with Unilab Active Health (ULAH), Hamilo Coast, Pico Sands Hotel, Orbea, Shimano, Crystal Clear, Maxxis, Pocari Sweat, Timex, Saucony, and Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club, are P40,000 in total cash prizes for the top three male/female elite finishers, and medals for the top three male-female age-groupers and top three relay teams.

The awards rites-beach party is set at 6 p.m. Each participant is entitled to an event shirt, a swim cap, timing chip use, finisher’s medal, post-race meal and entrance to Hamilo Coast.
