Top bets vie in Petron kart series
MANILA, Philippines - Top karters gear up for a battle royale this weekend when the second leg of the Petron Blaze 100 KF Karting Super Series is held March 29-30 at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite.
Last season’s Junior Karter of the Year Raymond Cudala of Tough Gear Racing and Lean Linao of Formula-E Racing go for crucial wins in a bid for the solo lead in the KF Senior Blaze 100 division.
The chase for the KF Junior Blaze 100 crown is also expected to be fierce between Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement and ART Grand Prix junior driver Gabriel Tayao-Cabrera, who split honors in the kickoff leg.
The tandem of Michael Jordan and son Mikey, meanwhile, gun for a repeat of their feats in their respective divisions.
Michael Jordan is out to firm up his lead in the KF Master Blaze 100 class over Onemig Bondoc, Phillip Lau, Julius Milla and Jon Julian while Mikey seeks another win in the KF Restricted Petron Blaze 100 division against Flynn Jackes, Sean Draeco McLelland and Keith Co.
Also out to keep his lead is Eduardo Coseteng Jr. in the Mini-ROK XCS class where he will take on Flynn Jackes, Mikey Jordan, Jarred Kim of Tuason Racing, Bianca Bustamante of Formula-E Racing, Bobby Redpath of AUTS Racing, Keith Co and Sean Draeco McLelland.
Tan Jun Wei Ethan of the Singapore Drakar Racing Team wil spice up the action in the mini-ROK XCS.
Linao and Cudala ruled separate races as they shared the KF Senior Blaze 100 division honors in the kickoff leg of the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint, and Yokohama.
Linao surprised the crowd by topping Race 1 over Vrei-AR Suba and Estefano Rivera of Tough Gear Racing.
Cudala ruled Race 2, beating Rivera and Suba.
