57 fighters honored in Elorde Awards today

MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will be the guest of honor and speaker when 57 Filipino fighters, headed by current and former champions, are feted in elaborate rites tonight in the 14th Gabriel “Flash” Elorde Memorial Awards and Banquet of Champions at the Harbour Garden Tent of the Sofitel Hotel. 

WBO light flyweight champion Donnie Nietes, IBF light flyweight king Johnriel Casimero and WBO minimum weight titlist Merlito Sabillo head the Class of 2013, which includes icon Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire along with the international champions from the major boxing organizations and former world champions who will be acknowledged in the annual event held in honor of The Flash.
