MANILA, Philippines - The Asia Pacific Glock Invitational International Shooting Competition fired off yesterday with 570 shooters, including 54 foreign bets, taking part at the Cebu Pistol and Rifle Association Firing Range in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
The three-day competition is the qualifying event for the World Shoot XVII which will be held in Florida, USA with the top Filipino finishers gaining berths in the national team vying in the world tilt in October.
KC Eusebio and Tori Nonaka, both from Team USA, served as Glock Clinic instructors in the event, organized by Cebu Pistol and Rifle Association headed by its president Albert “Bing†Lim
The Cebu Pistol and Rifle Association is the biggest and oldest gun club in the country while Glock Asia Pacific Limited and Trust Trade is the event’s main sponsor.
Gracing the event were Sven De Souter, marketing director, Glock Asia-Pacific and Joy Gutierrez-Jose, director for sales and operations Trust Trade.
Waterfront police station chief, Chief Inspector Wildemar Tiu, also the range officer, said the international event is a big boost to CPRA and Cebu in general with a big number of guests attending the competition.
The awards rites will be held tomorrow at Tambuli Beach Club in Lapu Lapu City.
