TGIF: Kris agrees to Friday as James-Bimby day

MANILA, Philippines -- James Yap can finally focus on winning more championships and perhaps, getting back to his old MVP form.

On the eve of Yap and the rest of San Mig's starters return to training camp, the former two-time MVP's wish of spending time with his son Bimby regulary was finally granted.

Yap was happy and relieved that his ex-wife Kris Aquino finally came to terms with him on a "long term agreement" with regards to his visitation rights.

"Sa wakas, makakasama ko na regularly si Bimby. Binigay sa akin every Friday," Yap told Philstar.com hours after their final court hearing.

Yap is excited to spend time with his son after winning the Philippine Cup title. The San Mig superstar spent time with his son during his birthday last Feb. 15 after six months of not seeng him.

Yap, who battled nagging back injuries on the court and legal issues off it, is slowly getting back to his old form. In the Finals, he posted averages of 13.8 points on 46.5 percent clip aside from helping in slowing down Rain or Shine top gunner Jeff Chan.

Yap is looking forward to see Bimby cheer him on from the sidelines again.

"Sana puwede siya manood pag mag-fall ang game namin sa Friday," Yap said.

Yap is back from spending the short break from out of town and will report to practice starting Thursday. The Mixers will open their PBA Commissioner's Cup campaign against GlobalPort Batang Pier on March 12.
