Manila Bay Seasports festival attracts record field

MANILA, Philippines - Olympic rowers, Southeast Asian Games medalists, and members of the various national teams in world dragon boat competitions head the star-studded cast in the Manila Bay Summer Seasports festival on March 8-9 in Baywalk on Roxas Blvd.

The Philippine Air Force, Crimson Dragons, Amateur Paddlers Philippines, Rogue Pilipinas, Philippine Blue Phoenix, 1925 Paddlers Club and the Philippine Coast Guard banner the field in the event presented by Manila Broadcasting Company and the City of Manila and held in cooperation with the Philippine Coast Guard. Races begin at 8 a.m. 

Others seeing action are Triton, Onslaught Racing Dragons, Rowers Club Philippines, One Piece Drakon Sangress, Manila Ocean Park, PNP Maritime Group Patriots, Philippine Army, NTMA Dragon Boat Team, Adamson University Paddlers,  Maharlika Dragon Boat Racers and Dragons Republic Paddlers Club.  

Racers from Batangas, Cavite, La Union, Pangasinan, Bacolod, Iloilo, Bulacan, Navotas, Ilocos Sur, Misamis Oriental,  and Quezon make the cast in the motorized banca competition featuring the stock and formula races.  

Top concert artists have been invited to grace the awarding rites in the two-day event backed by Cobra Energy Drink, Caltex, Eveready, Ginebra San Miguel, Pioneer Epoxy, Filinvest, Silka, M. Lhuillier, Columbia International Foods, Manila Ocean Park, Cord Marine Epoxy, and Briggs and Stratton.
