62 teams vie in Best WVL

MANILA, Philippines - Sixty-two teams gear up for the championship games in the Best Center Women’s Volleyball League Season 18 on Sunday at San Beda College in Manila.

Colegio San Agustin and Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan will slug it out in the 13-Under Developmental Division; Colegio San Agustin and Jubilee Christian Academy tangled in the 13-Under Competitive Division; St. James Academy of Malabon and La Consolation College duel in the 17-Under Developmental Division; and Kings’ Montessori School and Colegio San Agustin clash in the 17-Under Competitive Division.

Games start at 8:30 a.m.

WVL hosted developmental and competitive matches around Metro Manila for young volleyball players ages 7 to 18 from January until March.

Last year, Colegio de San Agustin, Makati won the 13-Under Developmental and Competitive Divisions; Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan, Inc. topped the 17-Under Developmental Division; while Hope Christian High School won in the 17-Under Competitive Division.

This year’s interschool finals cast includes Assumption College, Saint Pedro Poveda College and St. Scholastica’s College, Manila in the elementary division games; and Immaculate Conception Academy, Miriam College, and PAREF-Rosehill School in the secondary division games.

Sponsored by Milo, the league is organized by the prestigious BEST Center and provides aspiring volleyball athletes a venue to develop their skills.
