MANILA, Philippines - The 10th All-Breed Championship Dog Show of the Toy Group Fanciers Internationale (TGFI) is slated Sunday at the Z Square Mall on Banawe corner Del Monte Ave., Quezon City.
TGFI, an affiliate of the Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines Inc. (AKCUPI) ,will group the entries into seven breeds – the toy, herding, hound, terrier, working, sporting and non-sporting – which will vie for the three titles – best baby puppy, best Philippine-born and the best in show.
The judges are Hung Chun Kwong of Hong Kong and Mike Buenaflor of the Philippines.
Kwong, an active junior member of the Hong Kong Kennel Club, had over 35 years of experience in breeding, handling, training and grooming dogs, some of which earned championship titles and best in show.
A judge for the Hong Kong and China Dog Lover Association from 1999 to 2009, Kwong was part of the committee appointing all-breed judges to the event.
Buenaflor, an international German Shepherd specialty judge and an international all-breed judge licensed under the Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines, Kennel Club Union of Asia and the Federation Canine International (Spain), is a licensed ring steward for both German Shepherd Seiger and All-Breed shows. He had been involved in the canine world for more than two decades, breeding and exhibiting Rottweilers, Dobermanns, Boxers, Labradors, St. Bernards, English and Neopolitan Mastiffs, as well as Anatolian and German shepherds.
