7 make football tryouts
MANILA, Philippines - Lanao del Norte’s Art Batuto led six other players who qualified in the first two tryouts for the national football team set in Japan this year.
A representative from the Philippine Football Federation, along with two German nationals, conducted the tryout at the Mindanao Civic Center sports complex in Lanao del Norte recently.
The tryout was classified into two categories – 12 under and 14 under.
Out of the more than 40 players who took part, only seven players passed the initial screening. They are scheduled to undergo a final screening in Bukidnon before they will officially be part of the Phl team.
During the tryout, the two German players and PFF consultant also gave pointers to the local footballers on how they can improve their game.
