MANILA, Philippines - The Jr. NBA Philippines 2014 presented by Alaska cage clinics will resume this Friday at the San Andres Sports Center in Malate with Assumption Antipolo taking its turn to host the event on Saturday.

The University of Rizal System in Antipolo will host the clinics on Sunday, the Mother of Divine Providence School in Marikina City on Feb. 28 and St. Theresa’s College Quezon City on March 1.

The last clinic in Manila will be held on March 8 at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex. The clinics at San Andres Sports Center, University of Rizal System and the Muntinlupa Sports Complex are open clinics while the rest are exclusive for the students of said schools.

The seventh consecutive staging in the country of the Jr. NBA and the first ever of the Jr. WNBA drew hundreds of kids to the free basketball clinics in Manila, Taguig City and Quezon City. The event is part of the global basketball league’s international developmental basketball program.

Two hundred seventy four girls and boys took part in the clinic at the Aurora Quezon Elementary School in Malate last Feb. 13 while 242 boys from Claret School in Quezon City participated in the NBA style basketball training program that underscores the core values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude and Respect (STAR) last Feb. 15.

One hundred sixty eight kids (164 boys and four girls), meanwhile, joined the school clinic simultaneously held in Taguig City last Feb. 15.

Earlier this month, Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA school clinics were also held at St. Francis School in Sta. Ana, Manila, Aquinas School in San Juan City, Escuela de Sophia in Caloocan City and Kalayaan National High School in Pasay City.
