MBC seasports festival listup starts Feb. 10

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Bay Broadcasting Company is accepting entries for the 2013 Manila Bay Seasports Festival beginning Feb. 10.

The festival, slated March 8-10,  features mixed team championships for the Dragon Boat Race, with stock and formula races comprising the motorized banca competitions in the annual summer event presented by MBC and the city of Manila, in cooperation with the Philippine Coast Guard.

At stake is over P500,000 in prizes for all divisions. Rowing clubs, student groups, and even top athletes are expected to see action in the dragon boat race, while bangkeros from all over the country will pit their skills in the banca races.

Water enthusiasts and hobbyists are invited to cheer on the participants in these spectator sports made popular in island nations such as the Philippines.

The event is sponsored by Caltex, Eveready, Ginebra San Miguel, Republic Chemicals, Filinvest, M. Lhuillier, Columbia, International Food Products Inc., Manila Ocean Park, and Cord Marine Epoxy.  Registration is on first-come, first-served basis.
