World Slasher Cup champion known today
MANILA, Philippines - The much-awaited grand finals of the 2014 World Slasher Cup 8-Cock Invitational Derby takes place starting at 4 p.m. today at Smart Araneta Coliseum with 22 undefeated entries giving it all and vying for the ultimate prize in cockfighting.
Hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions, the Year of the Horse chapter of the Slasher is sponsored by Thunderbird Bexan XP, Sagupaan Complexor 3000, Bmeg Integra, Supremo Gamefowl Feeds and Petron.
The list of championship contenders include semifinal-round topnotchers Tady Palma (TMP Farm), Engr. Efren Fernando/Jong Agustin (MOA Erikka), Batangas Breeders Club’s Stagfighter of the Year Allan and Abel Andoy (Highland A’s) and Thunderbird Bexan XP endorser Engr. Sonny Lagon (San Lorenzo-2), all with four wins and one loss each, and those with 3.5 points, led by Boy Martinez and Erlito Waopan (BMW Avesaurus), V. Concepcion/N. Plamares/M. Acap (Fighting Doring/NAP/UCON 168) and Felix & RC Gatchalian (FFG Archers Monarch).
With four points are Black Ninja (Gengen Arayata/Kapt. Brian), LNF Cagayan Vice Gov-2 (Vice Gov. Odie Fausto), LongsocreBobcon (Celso Evangelista), 671 Gameboy-2 (Peter Elm) and ArnisGuro (Raymond Velayo/Lito Cay) while J. Genesis-Dubai Gold (Vice Mayor Jubee P. Navarro), MOA 888 75-1 (Vice Mayor Anthony Marasigan) and Capuchino Deong & Lucky Team CDP WWWRN (Mayor Egay Capuchino) posted three wins and a loss each.
