Mixers turn back Texters

MANILA, Philippines -- San Mig Coffee assured itself of at least fifth spot as it capped its elims campaign with a 100-87 drubbing of three-time defending champion Talk n Text in the nightcap.

“Our goal when we started from 1-5 was to get back to .500. I didn’t think we can get that, and finishing at 7-7 is really a nice accomplishment for us,” said San Mig coach Tim Cone.

Regardless of the outcome of the remaining games in the elims, San Mig and Talk n Text meet in a best-of-three quarters showdown.
