Huey, Inglot buck slow start in Australian Open
MANILA, Philippines -- Fil-Am ace Treat Conrad Huey and Dominic Inglot of Great Britain bucked a first set defeat to overcome the Colombian pair of Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, Wednesday to jumpstart their bid in the doubles event of the Australian Open.
The 12th-seeded Huey-Inglot duo thus arranged a second round showdown with the winner of the match pitting Italians Potito Starace and Andreas Seppi and Germans Florian Mayer and Tobias Kamke.
Huey, the country’s top netter having spearheaded the Davis Cup team and several international campaigns, and Inglot are hoping to do better in this Grand Slam event to gain ranking points and improve on their current world doubles rankings of 22 and 28, respectively.
