Mixers snap Kings' run in Manila Clasico

MANILA, Philippines -- In the PBA nightcap, San Mig Coffee leaned on a sterling performance by Mark Barroca as it downed Brgy. Ginebra, 83-79, to jump into a five-way logjam at fifth place with a 4-7 (win-loss) slate.

Barroca had an efficient and all-around game, scoring 16 points by making seven of his 10 shots and spiked it with seven boards, six assists and three steals that sent the Coffee  Mixers from second to last to a share of No. 5 with GlobalPort, Meralco, Alaska and Barako Bull.

"He's been our steadiest player the whole conference, he's playing at an all-star level," said San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone of Barroca.

San Mig Coffee's win snapped a six-game streak by Ginebra, which saw Japeth Aguilar's 26-point, seven-rebound, six-block and three-assist effort go to waste as it absorbed its second defeat against nine wins.
