NFGB holds 8-cocker
MANILA, Philippines - After staging the 6,479 -entry “Bakbakan†series, the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (NFGB) announced yesterday its next big event this year.
Dubbed as “NFGB Hari Ng Rueda 8-Cock Derbyâ€, the event has a minimum guaranteed prize of P5 million and entry fee of P8,800.
“This is our first cock derby series, and all 36 breeders groups affiliated with NFGB have agreed to support it,†said NFGB president Ricoy Palmares Jr.
With more than 1,000 entries expected, the guaranteed prize will definitely go up, said Palmares.
Competition starts Feb. 6 at the Tabora Sports Club (UBBBA) and Pasig Square Garden (RGBA). The format calls for 4-cock eliminations and 4- cock finals.
Other upcoming schedules: Feb. 7 (Arcontica Cockpit-UCBA) and Feb. 8 (Tayabas Sports Center-QCBA). The grand finals are on Feb. 27 at Roligon Mega Cockpit.
