Philgerma rules Endurance Cup

MANILA, Philippines - After six hours of non-stop racing on the GT Radial SX1 and SX2 tires, the Dynamic IQ Philgerma car took home the  overall trophy and the Phl Endurance Cup in a  supreme test of man and machine at the Clark International Speedway recently.

The Dynamic IQ Philgerma completed 142 laps, with only two pit stops,  after the six-hour endurance race, to rule the third annual GT Radial “Anim na Oras ng Pilipinas” – the first time an endurance race was held at Clark.

Philgerma was only two-tenths of a second in front of  Green Horny and Magic Brownie, followed by Team Works Bell Japan/Egghead/ Forced Speed.

In FM1, Red Racing TRS took home the trophy followed by Team ATA. The Zoom Car from team Xoom LPG overtook Team Trackhos EG right at the last corner before the checkered flag to rule FM2 with 127.  Second placer was Trackhos EG with 127 laps and third was Red Racing TRS with 119. Team champions were Team Centrum Fuels with a combined lap total of 282 followed by Team IQ Philgerma with 261 and Team Trackhos in third.

Fourteen teams registered for this one-of-a-kind event and only 12 cars started on the grid. The weekend was filled with drama and twists as the teams battled with their cars’ reliability. Team ATA and Bagspeed blew their engines during qualifying. Though Team ATA managed to put together a spare car just in time for the race, its distributor failed on the fifth hour of the race and was just able to get its car up running in time to cross the checkered flag.

Meanwhile, Red Racing TRS also thought it was out of the race when its wheel spacer gave up on the Beta turn of the circuit and luckily it was able to fix the problem and get it back to the pits. Xoom LPG’s two alternative fuel cars, Zoom car and James Corolla, put up quite a show, proving there is a green way to go racing and opening doors for future motorsports ventures.
