MANILA, Philippines - Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Cagayan de Oro Athletic Association (COAA) stamped its class in the recent Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) Meet dubbed “Palarong Pampook,” topping both the elementary and secondary divisions of the five-day regional sportsfest.

Cagayan de Oro City beat Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental for the elementary plum while its high school delegation dispatched Misamis Oriental and Iligan City for the secondary diadem.

The competition was held at the world-class Mindanao Civic Center (MCC) Sports Complex and other venues in the coastal towns of Baroy and Lala.

“The MCC sports complex is not only a gem of the province of Lanao del Norte but of the entire island of Mindanao. In this regard, we wish to invite everyone to take advantage of this world-class sporting facility in honing the athletic skills of our future champions,” said Gov. Khalid Dimaporo of host Lanao del Norte.

The top student-athletes of Region 10 took part in the competition, carrying the banners of the cities of Valencia, Iligan, Tangub, Oroquieta, Cagayan de Oro, Malaybalay, Gingoog, Ozamis and the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, and host Lanao del Norte.

“We are very happy for another huge number of athletes, coaches and delegation officials who have come here to our province to compete for this year’s NMRAA.” said Dimaporo.
