MANILA, Philippines - Larco Rafael Pesigan Cortez of Formula E Racing placed second in the final leg of the 2013 Coca-Cola Karting Super Series to formally claim the Formula Cadet Novice crown at the Carmona racetrack in Cavite recently.
The 11-year-old Don Bosco-Makati student also emerged the Cadet Novice champion, ruling six of the eight legs to wrap up the championship with a total of 589 points.
The young future karting champ also showed lots of promise in the higher division, consistently turning in third place finishes in the Mini-ROK class in his very first try.
He was second in the Mini-ROK time trials, just two seconds behind the pole winner in another impressive showcase of skills and aggressive driving.
“The Macau AKOC race proved a big lesson for us that Larco managed to achieve all our goals in this race. He may be young but he has the talent and passion for the sport,†said Formula E Racing CEO and head coach Elson Carpio.
