Hudri Kona came through with two crucial plays to lift the Patriots to victory, their third in four games, tying their victims for the lead.
Kona scored on a vicious kill to break the 16-all count then combined with Francis Basilan for a block to clinch the win and end the two-hour and five-minute encounter.
The Sea Lions forced the decider after a pair of attacks from Razzel Palisoc. A block by the Patriots on Christopher Besa helped pad Olivarez’s lead to five, 21-16, in the fourth.
Earlier, Rizal Technological University walloped EAC-Cavite, 25-11, 25-15, 21-25, 25-14, to book its second win in three starts in the women’s side.
