La Salle and San Beda rule UAAP, NCAA

The Philippine Star

The De La Salle Green Archers returned to the top of the UAAP basketball ending a five-year reign of their archrival Ateneo Blue Eagles.

The sibling rivalry of Jeron and Jeric Teng served as the perfect backdrop of the UAAP Finals which La Salle won in a Game Three overtime thriller.

In the NCAA, the San Beda Red Lions roared for their fourth men’s basketball title in a row at the expense of rival Letran Knights once again.

La Salle and San Beda’s championships in their respective leagues also marked the first time that head coaches Juno Sauler of La Salle and Boyet Fernandez, both first timers, won their very first championship in the collegiate ranks.
