MANILA, Philippines - Keen competition is seen when the 11th Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League holds its Tournament-of-Champions on Jan. 13-17 featuring eight regional champions and two foreign teams at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
NCR leg back-to-back winner Hope Christian High School heads the elite cast vying for this year’s crown in the event serving as the feeder league to the Shakey’s V-League.
Also making it to the grand finals of the event supported by Mikasa, Asics, Tune Hotel, Burlington, BioFresh, Food Health and Science Magazine, are De La Salle-Lipa, University of San Jose-Recoletos, Central Philippine University, Leyte National High School, Angeles University Foundation, Ateneo de Davao and Baguio City National High School.
The eight teams will be joined by two foreign squads from Australia and New Zealand, according to tournament director Johanz Buenvenida of Metro Sports.
Meanwhile, Burlington Socks joins the growing list of sponsors backing the event. A long-time patron of Philippine sports, Burlington has just released its XT Premier Sports Socks for high-caliber performance in time for the keenly awaited T-of-C.
Burlington Socks also came in as sponsor of recently concluded Run Bike Live of Prolife Philippines, which drew a huge field at SM City Marikina.
