MANILA, Philippines - Multi-titled rider Kenneth San Andres of JBS-Kawasaki Philippines wrapped up another Rider of the Year title in the ninth and final leg of the NAMSSA National Motocross Series at the Speedworld MX Circuit, SM Bicutan yesterday.
After nine stops of the series held under the auspices of the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA), San Andres totes 344 points, just six points shy of a perfect 350, in pacing the premier Pro Open category, dominating up-and-coming rider Ralph Ramento (271) and veteran Bebet dela Cruz (215) for the top honors.
“We have been blessed all these years,†said San Andres, who was also NAMSSA Philippine National Motocross Rider of the Year in 2012. “I wanted to end the season on a winning note and I’m glad I did just that.â€
San Andres, an awardee for motocrosss of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) last year, is actually coming off a sweep of both the Pro Open and Pro 125 categories of the national series, also at the Speedworld, last Sunday, quashing the bids of both Ramento and Dela Cruz and the other veterans in the local circuit.
The Valenzuela native, backed by Oakley, Kawasaki Phils., Fox Phils., Leatt neck brace, GO Pro, Oakley Phils., Bridgestone Tires, Motul Oil, HJC helmets, Polisports, Foilacar Manila, Kia Global, Laus Auto Group, R33 Car Exchange, Halrey, GM Mark Lapid, XOTIX Car Wash, GCG Pipes, JM Stickers, and JBS Motorcycle Parts and Accessories, also paces the Pro Open division with 347 points.
